Lyon’s Den – Gerri Hill

It am still not having enough time to read my beloved romance novels. But I am coming out from hiding when Gerri Hill puts out a new title. And here we are with Lyon’s Den. I am amazed by Gerri Hill’s ability to write so many great books. I hope there will be many more.
So this one again takes place in a setting with beautiful nature surroundings. This time it’s the Colorado wilderness where Kendall Lyon runs a retreat for women. Joni James gets sent there by her boss to write a hit piece on the place. The man is angry because his wife went there and came back a different woman and divorced him. He thinks these people must be brainwashing these ladies. Joni really, really, dislikes anything to do with nature. It is with great (really great) reluctance that she goes to stay at the retreat for a whole month!
Well, of course it ain’t all that bad. Neither is Kendall 😏. Though she kinda hates her a little in the beginning because of all the strict rules she needs to abide. Joni is the youngest of all the women that stay at the retreat. But you wouldn’t say that seeing her awful athletic abilities. Slowly but surely Joni stops resisting and gets under the spell of the nature that surrounds them. And she begins to see Kendall in a different light. Kendall for her part is warming up to the foulmouthed Joni. She starts to open up to her, letting out her demons. The women grow closer and Joni starts to forget all about her hit piece that she’s supposed to write….
Lyon’s Den is not one of my favorite Gerri Hill novels. It is still very charming though. A nice getaway from the harsh outside world. Just like Kendall’s retreat. I would love to stay there for a month and enjoy the Colorado nature 🥰.
