Gerri Hill’s 49th is again a good one. With ghosts this time. There were ghosts in Gillette Park and Weeping Walls, but not as prominent as in The Ghosts in Greenville. Well, the title says it all 😏.

So how about those ghosts that are rumored to be haunting the little town of Greenville? If you can call it a town. It was once a place for gold diggers but when that faded, the town got more and more deserted. After the great fire in the 1800’s, Greenville became a regular ghost town. Except for Devin Green and her brother Michael who are still running Greenville’s one and only hotel. Visitore still come for the fishing and to see if the ghost stories are true.

Kayla is one of those people who wants to see if the stories are true and write a book about it. She books two rooms for her and her husband Joey and Joey’s sister Courtney. Courtney is in need of a break. After she got suspended from her job as a detective, she needs to get away and hide for a while. What better place to hide than Greenville. Besides them and Devin and Michael, there is no other soul. Except for the haunted ones of course. And Molly, the older woman who is helping them with the hotel.

At the same time Gail and her daughter Katie flee her abusive husband Tony. He is chasing them, not because he wants her back but because of the diamonds they took without knowing they did. Gail runs into old Bea and her dog Cody. Bea helps them get to safety. Safety they need after getting shot at by Tony. She takes them to Greenville for help.

There’s a lot happening at the same time. Courtney meets Devin and remembers her being the hot one night stand that never left her thoughts. Devin remembers exactly the same. That night ruined them for anybody else. While they reacquaint themselves, the ghosts are stirring. There is an anniversary of the great fire coming up and this time it will be a special one. A big battle will take place. A big battle between good against evil. With the help of Molly they prepare themselves to survive the faithful night that is upon them.

Gerri did it again. This was one hell of a ride. The Ghosts of Greenville is a good ghost story without being terrifying. How do you get some romance in between everything that’s going on? If anybody can do it, it’s Gerri Hill 🥰.
