The Safekeep – Yael van der Wouden
The Safekeep is hard and soft at once. I feel Yael van der Wouden did such a good job unveiling trauma in such a delicate way. But you can still feel it, deeply. There is love too, deep love.
Our lovers seem to be opposites in everything they think matters (vegetarian/carnivore, Democrat/Republican, city/country, etc.), but they discover that love unites them in ways beyond those differences.

Link naar Epub *repost with Epub file* This story was originally an Uber Xena fic. Later it was first published in 1999. I had a copy but after a few reads, the pages fell out. Tried to buy a new one but it’s out of print (used only). Fortunately, the story is also still available…
Just when I think nothing will surprise me anymore, I read a new f/f work that floors me! This SwanQueen fic is from 2013 and man, am I glad I found this now, 10 years later. MorganLeGaye wrote a truly magnificent romance with Of Love and Loathing 🥰. There is a catch though. I’ll explain…
I read She some time ago and I believe it is now a classic Clexa fic. And I understand why. It’s a college AU but not in the usual way, in my opinion. There’s angst but not too much. It’s just about two young woman haphazardly falling in love by being in the wrong place…
Lise Gold and her alter ego Madeleine Taylor wrote a hot romance with The Next Life. That’s how I remember it anyway. It was a particular scene that stuck with me 😏. But also Reina’s story which was strong and emotional to me. In The Next Life Reina is just divorced. Her husband traded her…
Two SC fics in a row. I must be infatuated 😇. A Supercorp slow burn by Jazzfordshire, is that even possible? Well, yes it is. In fact this is one of the best slow burns I’ve ever read! What’s more, Lena Luthor is a vampire. She’s the perfect character to be a vampire. You can…
Have you ever had a celebrity crush? If so, did you ever think what would happen if you met that person in real life? Perhaps there be a mutual attraction. Not though, I mean… But From Fan to Forever is a romance novel, and anything is possible. Cate Whitney is a beautiful movie star and…
I am flabbergasted. This book by Eliza Lentzski is fantastic! Not that I am really surprised by her fabulous writing, but I am surprised she wrote such an amazing story set in an post-apocalyptic world. In truth, I am not really looking for stories like this in lesfic. I guess the main reason for that…
It’s time for a XWP classic! Heaven Down Here was released in 1996. When I began to think how many years ago this is, I couldn’t believe it has been 26 years 😱! That is a bit frightening, to tell you the truth. Luckily my brain still works, and I can remember this story as…
Faithtastic is back! The author of Clexa classics is known for stories such as Don’t Wanna be Your Girl, Cut to The Chase, and Grand Slam Thank You, Ma’m. And this one is just as good💎❤️. The premise of the story is also brilliant. This time Lexa is the daughter of Titus Woods, a conservative Republican…
Apparently, your taste in anything and everything can change. For example, I only liked a certain kind of young cheese. And now, the older the cheese the better😋. Same thing with butch characters in books. Roughly speaking because, man this comparison is all wrong here 😅. Anyway, I used to be completely ‘femme’ minded 🥰. I…
It is unbelievable that I continue to be amazed at the amount of terrific fanfic stories that are being written. Because this is another one. There is no arguing about taste. What one person thinks is good, another does not like. But for my part, I’ve read many a lesfic novel that I found less engaging than fanfics like…
The slogan for this book is as follows: Can you fall in love in thirteen hours? Well, in ‘lust’ maybe. But ‘love’? Answer: certainly! This is certainly the case in Thirteen Hours . Even if you wouldn’t think of that in advance. But leave that to Meghan O’Brien 😉. It’s workaholic Dana Watts’s birthday. Naturally, she celebrates her birthday at the office by working overtime. A co-worker…
A novel with a psychic in it, is that possible? And then also a real one that can be taken seriously? Because unfortunately it is getting pretty silly against Dr. Grace Jennings and about her gift. But leave it to Gerri Hill to write a nice story around this. Do not worry. Even in Gillette Park, Gerri Hill manages…
I’ll be honest. It took me some time getting used to this understated novel by Eliza Lentzski. But just like the wine that Sour Grapes is about, the book had to mature a bit in my experience. This metaphor is a bit far-fetched, but accurate nonetheless 😂. In Sour Grapes, June St. Clare is heading towards a promising future. She…
Available at Harper Bliss webshop The cover of this book is so good! When I think of this book, I also think of a swimming pool. Among other things 🤭. In any case, Seasons of Love is a great novel to read during the summer holidays. During the winter holidays also works in keeping you nice and warm 🥵😂….
Xena as a bandit in a western story? Yes, anything is possible in fanfiction 🪅. And luckily so! In Towards Sunset, the bandit Jess resides in the town of Meyersville. To pass the time, she goes after the good schoolteacher Mattie. Mattie is intimidated by the arrogant Jess, who seems to care about nothing and no one. But looks are…
This novel is slightly different from the others. It is a kind of diptych, there is a part that takes place during a holiday. Sun, sea, and other fun things. And there’s a part that takes place in ‘back to reality’. In The Midnight Moon, Accountant Peyton Watts goes on a beach vacation at her assistant’s urging. There she meets…
Jazzfordshire has written a lot of great Supercorp stories, but this stood out for me. It’s cute. And romantic🥰. Take Miss Congeniality, one of my favorite movies and not at all because of Sandra Bullock 😇, dip it in a Supercorp sauce, et voila. Brilliantly conceived. If you’re not familiar with the movie, let’s put it in a nutshell. Kara Danvers…
Eliza Lentzski is also one of my favorite authors. Moreover, she seems like a very nice person although I don’t know her at all, except a little bit on social media. I suspect it’s because of how she writes. Her characters are not always easy but always so very decent and sweet, or at least nice. In Don’t Call Me Hero,…
