In the Name of the Father – Gerri Hill

In this second installment of The Tori Hunter Trilogy , Samantha and Tori investigate the death of a Catholic priest. They suspect that he has been murdered. However, the higher management does not cooperate to resolve the issue. In fact, a media consultant is being hired to handle the delicate matter.
Sam and Tori continue to grow in their relationship. They are a delightful couple with a desirable dynamic in their love for each other. The ravaged and traumatized Tori is complemented by the steadfast and strong Samantha. Samantha is patient and also not unscathed. She reminds me of Xena’s Gabrielle 😃.
But their partnership as detectives comes to an end when Samantha takes another job at the CIU. Tori then gets Detective Casey O’Connor as a new partner. Casey comes across as a fun-loving, merry gossip that Tori isn’t happy about at all. She thinks she talks too much! But behind the mask is more than what Casey shows. Tori and Casey discover a lot of recognition in each other. This recognition marks the beginning of a close friendship. So beautiful 🥰!
Casey is a loner. Nevertheless, he begins an affair with the frosty consultant Marissa. She turns out not to be so frosty after all 😂. Besides all the romance, friendships and the like, there is apparently a murder to solve. I kept hoping there was a link to Tori’s traumatic past. But not in this part. Regardless, it was another fine detective story. And Tori and Sam….❤️❤️❤️!
