It’s been years since I read Spindrift and later Night Tide. So I was happy to see there was a new addition to the Seal Cove Romance series. This time it is the romance between Stevie and Angie that gets center stage. Who knew that behind Stevie jokeries hid such passion.
Stevie and Angie have been the best of friends for years. And secretly in love with each other. It is too risky to lose their deep friendship over a possible rejection for something more. So that settles it, no room for romance between them. Keep it light. And Stevie is the best one in that department with her jokes and funny memes.
When their roommates all leave them to live with their lovers, Morgan moves in with Emily and Lillian moves in with Ivy, it is getting more difficult to deny their attraction. But there is more that stops Angie from trying a possible romantic relationship with Stevie. Angie is traumatized by events when she was young. It has left her with a problematic look on love and lust. She feels she is incapable to have a healthy relationship with anyone. Her track record is that she eventually hurts the one she is with and she’ll be damned to do that to Stevie.
Stevie knows about her trauma. But she may not know the extent of it. The only thing she does know is that she is crazy in love with her friend. She will never force the issue with Angie. But how can she hide her feelings of deep love now that there’s only them in the house without the distraction of their friends?
Angie struggles just as hard with the same feelings. Still, she is determined not to give in. At some point there’s no stopping it. They break and consummate their passion for each other 🔥. Will it burn them alive? Or is it the road to healing for Angie? One thing is foe sure, she couldn’t have asked for a better partner to go down that road ❤️.
Anna Burke is famous for putting her characters through the wringer. This one is no different accept that it felt more personal. She put these two though a wringer 😱. It was a hard read in some moments. But in the end it’s all worth it. Stevie and Angie prove once again that love can conquer pain 🥰.
